There are about 507 floating homes on 70 docks and about 250 residential houseboats in Seattle. Lake Life Seattle estimates roughly 3 to 4% of floating homes sell each year, and no new ones are being added. Inventory is limited, so arrange your financing and insurance before the right home is listed. Ask me what's for sale right now
Some homes sell without a public listing. Tell me what you are looking for, and I will send the homes that fit.
What to check before you make an offer
On the water, the home is only half the decision. The float, the moorage terms, the dues and the loan all need to be in order before you write an offer.
What the listing type tells you
A floating home on a co-op or condo dock and a houseboat (FOWR) in a leased marina slip are very different purchases. The type sets which lenders will talk to you, what insurers ask for and how secure your moorage is. Read the plaque and the moorage documents first.

Selling a floating home or houseboat?
Your buyer will need a special loan, a dive inspection or marine survey, and dock or marina approval. Prepare your documents early: dues history, dock rules, City number and recent inspections. That keeps the sale on schedule. Tell me about your home, and I will walk you through the process.
